FAQ

What are the pharmacological options for treating erectile dysfunction from physical disturbances?

The most commonly used drugs are the so-called inhibitors of type 5 phosphodiesterase (PDE-5i): these are taken orally, have proven high efficacy and few contraindications and side-effects. However, when endocrine causes are identified, hormonal disorders must be resolved. There are also vasoactive drugs that can be injected directly into the penis or implanted in the urethra to help dilate the blood vessels.
